Cooking bones causes them to calcify, leading to splintering, and also triggers Maillard reactions that can render the bone protein indigestible for your dog. If your dog were to ingest these sharp bone fragments, they could pass through their intestines with potentially fatal consequences. It's similar to chewing on a piece of glass; your body wouldn't appreciate having to digest glass!
On the other hand, naturally dehydrated bones are a completely different story! Slow-dried bones are air-dried naturally at a slow pace. We are committed to preparing bones in a way that makes them brittle and safe for your furry companion to consume. Just like laying out lamb bones to dry naturally, our bones still have dried meat attached, making them ideal for a long-lasting chew. Dehydrated bones are not the same as cooked bones.
